This free activity, offered through Pacific Whale Foundation's Volunteering on Vacation program, offers free transportation and admission to Haleakala National Park, on an adventure led by a certified naturalist and professionally trained guide! While visiting the park, you'll help remove invasive plants or help with other projects to protect the park's incredible eco-system. In exchange for your efforts, you'll receive a free tote bag from Pacific Whale Foundation. Warm clothes, long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Bring water and lunch for a picnic at the park.
This program runs every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. The trip will begin at 7:30 AM, meeting at the Ma'alaea Pacific Whale Foundation Ocean Store. The trip lasts around 7 hours, including transportation to and from the park. Please plan to check in for the program 30 minutes in advance.
Local residents and visitors are welcome.
